Job Description: Facade Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facade Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our dynamic team. As a Facade QS, you will play a crucial role in the successful completion of construction projects, focusing specifically on the facade elements. Your expertise in cost estimation, budget control, and material management will be vital in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1.     Cost Estimation and Budget Control:

Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for facade materials and installation works.

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to establish project budgets and ensure adherence to the allocated funds.

Regularly monitor project expenses, identifying cost variations and proposing appropriate measures for cost control.

2.     Tendering and Procurement:

Prepare and issue tender documents to potential suppliers and contractors for facade works.

Evaluate bids and proposals from vendors, contractors, and subcontractors, considering both cost and quality aspects.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and favorable terms.

3.     Material Management:

Oversee the procurement and delivery of facade materials, ensuring they meet the required specifications and are delivered on time.

Maintain an updated inventory of facade materials, monitoring consumption and wastage.

Collaborate with the project team to manage material orders and minimize surplus stock.

4.     Variation and Change Management:

Assess and document any changes to the facade design or scope of work, evaluating their impact on project costs and timelines.

Advise the project team on potential cost implications and alternatives for managing variations effectively.

5.     Cost Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular cost reports, progress claims, and financial forecasts for the facade works.

Maintain accurate documentation of all cost-related activities and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

6.     Quality Control and Compliance:

Collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure that facade works adhere to the required quality standards.

Verify that facade materials and installations comply with local building codes and regulations.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

·       Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on facades in construction projects.

·       In-depth knowledge of facade materials, installation techniques, and industry standards.

·       Proficient in cost estimation software and tools, as well as standard MS Office applications.

·       Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.

·       Attention to detail and accuracy in quantity take-offs and cost calculations.

·       Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.

·       Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.

·       Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and relevant quantity surveying software is a plus.
