Test Engineer

Role: This role will be combination of manual + automation testing. (On the automation side experience in Java programmes, web automation - selenium, API - rest assured, tracking - JIRA, confluence, CI/CD - Jenkins)  Key skills: · 6+ years’ experience in automation testing using tools like TestNG · Experience in Web application Automation using Java+ Selenium · Experience in framework such as Rest assured & BDD · Able to evaluate the quality of the product from users’ eyes. · Able to identify which bugs are important from a business point of view. · You collaborate with stakeholders to identify business goals and then identify the right level of quality needed to achieve these goals.· Able to identify which flows need an improvement in the quality, in collaboration with other stakeholders like PMs. · Able to formulate a testing strategy to achieve the above outcomes. · Able to tweak the testing strategy based on the release process, such as continuous deployment vs weekly launches. · Able to make trade-offs like which parts of the app not to test at this stage. · Collaborate with the QA Engineer to figure out collaboratively which parts should be tested manually, and which parts in an automated manner, and which parts are important enough to do both. · Perform manual testing initially, and perhaps later manage a team of testers. · You take responsibility for the quality of the product. · You collaborate with different stakeholders like engineering, UX, product and business, and understand what quality means to each of them. · You evangelize the importance of achieving the right quality to other stakeholders in the team. · You never say “That’s not my job”; you take ownership of problems and either flag them or solve them. · Good to have experience with AWS or GCP APIs and services · Good familiar with agile methodologies.
