Role Overview
The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and student-focused digital experiences for ISHVI’s EdTech platforms, including the ISHVI App, CRM, and web platforms. This role involves end-to-end design ownership—from user research and wireframing to prototyping, usability testing, and final design handoffs. The goal is to enhance student, counselor, and partner interactions with ISHVI’s products and ensure a seamless journey in the study-abroad application and counseling process.
Key Responsibilities
🎯 User Research & Insights
Conduct user research with students, counselors, and university partners to understand needs, pain points, and expectations.
Analyze user journeys specific to study-abroad consulting (searching universities, document submission, tracking applications, visa guidance).
Create personas and user stories to guide design decisions.
📐 UI/UX Design & Prototyping
Translate business and user requirements into wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
Design responsive and mobile-first interfaces for the ISHVI App, CRM, and web applications.
Ensure intuitive navigation flows, clear information hierarchy, and user-friendly layouts.
Develop design systems, style guides, and UI kits to maintain brand consistency.
🖌️ Critical Deliverables
Wireframes, storyboards, and user flows.
High-fidelity mockups for app and web.
Interactive prototypes for usability testing.
Design system (typography, color palettes, icons, components).
User journey maps and customer experience flows.
Accessibility guidelines and compliance checks (WCAG standards).
Micro-interactions and animations to enhance user engagement.
🧪 Usability Testing & Feedback
Conduct A/B testing, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations.
Collect and analyze student feedback to refine design decisions.
Work with product and development teams to implement design improvements.
🤝 Collaboration & Delivery
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and counselors to deliver features aligned with student needs.
Provide design specifications and assets to the development team.
Ensure smooth handoff via Figma/Zeplin or similar tools.
Support in post-launch evaluation and continuous improvement of UI/UX.
📊 Monitoring & Optimization
Track UX metrics such as task success rate, drop-off rate, and time on task.
Continuously optimize designs based on analytics and user behavior insights.
Stay updated on EdTech and global study-abroad platform UX trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related fields.
Proven experience in UI/UX design for mobile and web applications.
Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or similar design tools.
Strong knowledge of design systems, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) to collaborate effectively with developers.
Excellent visual design skills with a strong portfolio.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
