ETP Operator – Indo Amines Limited, Badlapur Plant

Position Summary

The ETP Operator is responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant, ensuring wastewater generated by surfactant and specialty chemical production meets discharge standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control ETP processes: equalization, neutralization, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, biological treatment (aeration, sludge handling)
• Operate pumps, blowers, mixers, clarifiers, sludge drying beds, and chemical dosing systems
• Record influent and effluent parameters (pH, BOD, COD, TSS, flow rate) and adjust dosing and aeration rates
• Conduct routine sampling, on-site tests, and prepare daily water quality reports
• Perform preventive maintenance: clean filters, inspect pipelines, calibrate dosing pumps, and backwash media beds
• Troubleshoot treatment issues (e.g., low MLSS, foaming, poor settling) and implement corrective actions
• Ensure safe handling and storage of treatment chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, neutralizing agents)
• Maintain housekeeping in ETP area and ensure all safety interlocks and alarms are functional
• Manage sludge disposal and coordinate with external contractors for hazardous waste removal
• Maintain accurate operation logs, shift handover notes, and compliance documentation
• Follow SOPs, environmental regulations, and internal EHS guidelines

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI or Diploma in Chemical/Environmental Engineering or B.Sc. in Chemistry/Environmental Science
• 2–5 years’ experience in ETP/STP/VTP operations in a chemical or manufacturing environment
• Understanding of wastewater treatment unit operations and discharge norms
• Knowledge of online monitoring systems and basic laboratory testing techniques

Working Conditions

• Rotating shifts including nights and weekends
