Qualification - B.Tech / M.Tech / Diploma- electrical , Transportation

Experience - Min. 8+ yrs. in locomotive , Port Cranes service industry (Proven experience in electrical locomotive operations, maintenance. Strong understanding of locomotive systems and rail safety regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in technology used in locomotive operations. Knowledge of Industrial safety & work safety.)

Job Description

Position Summary :

The Electrical Locomotive Operation Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of locomotive fleets. This role ensures that locomotives are operated safely and efficiently, coordinating maintenance electrical schedules, managing staff, and adhering to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of locomotive systems, and Knowledge of rail safety protocols. 

Key Responsibilities :

Supervise the daily electrical operations of locomotives, including scheduling, routing, operation & maintenance.

Ensure that locomotives are operated in safety regulations & company policies.

Electrical Maintenance Management:

Develop & oversee electrical maintenance schedules to ensure locomotives are kept in optimal condition.

Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any mechanical and electrical issues or repairs needed.

Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime & extend locomotive lifespan. Record maintenance of fuel consumption.

Recruit, train, and manage locomotive operators and support staff.

Ensure compliance with all national, state, and local regulations regarding locomotive operations at plant & Docks.

Develop and implement strategies for optimizing locomotive utilization and reducing operational costs.

Interface with clients, customers, and other stakeholders to address any concerns or issues related to locomotive services.

Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on locomotive performance and operational challenges.

Supervise the locomotive crew and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for team members.

Supervise troubleshooting and repair activities for electrical and mechanical issues.

Coordinate with train crews, station managers, and dispatchers for efficient locomotive deployment.
