Qualification - B.tech - Metallurgy

Experience - Min. 8+ yrs.  (must exp. in processes : Annealing, Stress Relieving, Hardening, Tempering.)

Location - Vadodara , Guj. 

Job Description

Ensure heat-treated components meet required hardness, microstructure, and mechanical properties.

Conduct hardness testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers), microstructure analysis, and case depth measurement.

Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or dye penetrant inspection. Validate and monitor process parameters for Annealing, Stress Relieving, Hardening, and Tempering to ensure consistency.

Optimize furnace temperature, soaking time, and cooling rates for each process.

Work with production teams to ensure adherence to heat treatment cycle parameters. Investigate common heat treatment defects such as decarburization, cracking, distortion, and improper hardness.

Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, 8D) and implement corrective actions.

Reduce rejection rates by optimizing quenching methods and cooling media. Maintain records of heat treatment cycles, inspection results, and metallurgical reports.

Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ASTM, and NADCAP (if applicable).

Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary quality documentation.
