Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer for a full-time, mid-level position in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of work experience and will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our IT solutions. The engineer will leverage various testing tools to enhance digital readiness and transformation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience of 4-6 years in software testing, with a focus on ensuring high quality software releases in a dynamic and iterative environment.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium for creating robust automated test scripts and enhancing testing efficiency through test automation.
• Expertise in JMeter for performance testing to ensure our software products meet performance benchmarks under various network and user load conditions.
• Proficiency in using Postman for API testing to validate API functionality, reliability, performance, and security across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with Cypress for end-to-end testing, ensuring smooth and seamless user experiences across multiple user scenarios and environments.
• Ability to leverage JUnit for unit testing, aimed at identifying and fixing issues at the code level to maintain code integrity and quality.
• Strong Python programming skills for scripting and automation tasks to optimize testing processes, improve accuracy, and reduce manual intervention.
• Experience with JIRA for tracking bugs and enhancements, ensuring prompt resolution and communication across the project lifecycle.
• Competency with Selenium WebDriver for browser-based regression testing, ensuring product reliability and compatibility across browsers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure software quality at different stages of the development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using JIRA and collaborate with developers for prompt problem resolution.
• Conduct performance testing using JMeter, analyze results and recommend improvements to enhance application performance.
• Execute API tests using Postman, verifying integration points and ensuring consistent data exchange without errors.
• Perform functional and regression testing using Cypress and Selenium, ensuring new and existing features work as intended.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
• Utilize JUnit for unit testing to detect bugs and ensure product reliability from early stages of the development process.
• Provide feedback on quality issues, propose enhancements and ensure implementation of best practices across testing environments.
