Requisition BI Developer Location India – Mumbai / Remote Status Vacant Requisition # Classification Permanent Salary Band Salary Range Reports to Manager - BI & Analytics Date of Req JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: House of Spices (India) is seeking a BI Developer/ Data Engineer who will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of BI and Data Engineering solutions i.e. gathering requirements, analyzing, designing, documenting, development, testing, deployment to production and providing actionable insights to business users. This will be an individual contributor role working mainly on Power BI & SSRS reporting as well as on Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc. for Data warehousing, ETL and other complex data tasks. Essential Functions Designing and implementing BI and Data Engineering solutions that meet business needs and quality standards, transforming raw data into meaningful insights. Building sophisticated reports, dashboards, scorecards, tabular data models and interactive visual reports using Power BI & SSRS Creating complex/advanced measures, calculated columns and custom tables using DAX Defining and implementing dashboard security, performance optimization of new/ existing dashboards Writing complex transformations and ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, SQL and Stored procedures. Developing logical and physical data models, and ETL development, as needed Implementing and supporting simple to complex enterprise data warehouses using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, SSIS Gathering and documenting requirements for bugs fixes, new features, reports, and enhancements; including deriving data and process validations, defining calculations, and maintaining Excel-based reports. Developing Quality Assurance detailed test plans; test features, reports, templates, and bugs in an efficient and thorough manner. Prepare functional and technical documentation to capture all the business requirements, design principles, best practices and technical solutions/workflows for all the BI and Data Engineering projects Competencies Teamwork & Collaboration. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 2.00 pm to 10.30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Qualifications Graduate or Post-Graduate in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or related field 3-7 years of hands-on development experience in Power BI, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, MSBI (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Excel Advanced experience in general database and data warehouse development including replication, staging, stored procedures, views, partitioning, data marts, ETL Experience in Azure Analysis Services, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure DevOps would be a plus Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP is highly desirable Business process experience in the food supply & distribution industry is highly desirable. Professional certifications in Power BI and Azure would be an added advantage Hands on analytical, problem solving and debugging skills with the ability to work under pressure Excellent communication skills and ability to present facts/details in a concise manner to technical & non-technical stakeholders Excellent technical / functional documentation skills with ability to deliver trainings Experience on working with Global Clients and in diverse cultures.
