Job description:

Speech and Swallow Therapist :

• Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. 

• Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, 

•  Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in clients.

•   Administer standardized tests and specialized evaluation tools to determine the extent and nature of communication difficulties.

• Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care. 

•  Employ various techniques and exercises to enhance speech articulation, language comprehension, expression, and pragmatics.

•   Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods for clients who have severe communication impairments.

• Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks. 

• Able to handle voice disorders, dysarthria, aphasia, aphraxia , language disorders and Dysphagia management  

• Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies. 

• Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress. 

• Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required. 

• Able to do swallow therapy for adult patients with neurological deficits. 

• Update the daily documentation.
