Job Description – Mould Operator (SMS)

Position: Mould Operator – Steel Melting Shop (SMS)

Location: Kalinganagar

Industry: Leading Steel Manufacturing Company

Annual CTC: ₹2.90 LPA (In-hand up to ₹18,000/month)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor mould equipment in SMS operations.
• Handle tundish platform and mould operations (Billet, Slab, Thin Slab).
• Perform machine shop activities and assist in preventive maintenance.
• Ensure safe and efficient mould operation during steel casting.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in mould handling.
• Coordinate with shift in-charge/production team for smooth operations.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of machine shop operations.
• Hands-on experience in mould operation and tundish platform handling.
• Familiarity with steel casting processes (Billet/Slab/Thin Slab).
• Basic fitter skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in shifts and in a team environment.

Qualifications

• ITI + NAC (Apprentice) in relevant trade.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Mould Operator in steel manufacturing / SMS.
