Position Title: Business Unit Manager, BioPharma Product Testing, India

REPORTING TO: National Multiple Business Line Leader

REPORTING LOCATION: Bangalore India

WORKING LOCATION: Bangalore India

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:


Lead and grow BioPharma Product Testing (BPT) business through strong organic growth, and act with high degree of ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.


Build and lead a team of entrepreneurial leaders for the BPT business line. Ensure engagement, retention and motivation of the leaders, and encourage collaboration and connectivity among them to achieve synergy.

POSITION &OBJECTIVES:

General Management

Act as representative, as shareholder representative, as member of the board or Managing Director (MD) in various holding and /or operating companies of his / her scope

Corporate Strategy

Develop with its leadership team strategic plans for each business regarding service and products portfolio sales, production, consumable sourcing and IT solutions to maximize the profitable growth of all businesses.

Work closely with key functional leaders of businesses in scope on critical business issues such as competitive positioning and competitive strategy; sales force effectiveness; tests portfolio; costs reduction; new business development; and other initiatives to drive increased revenue growth. With the leaders of the companies in his / her scope, create a value proposition that will support revenue growth and increased customer loyalty.

Participate in Key Account and relationship management as per business needs

Closely monitor the performance of businesses and business leaders in dedicated sessions and thru common platform (expand it fully as well)

Operations.

Accountable for the consolidated P&L comprising of all businesses in his / her scope

Will be responsible for turnaround and change management in close working with business leaders

Support the leaders under his / her responsibility in projects related to the building, commissioning, expansion of new and existing sites as and if agreed with the Group Operating Council.

Drive M&A due-diligence initiatives and post-merger integration programs.

Increase operational effectiveness, productivity and bottom-line results, by implementing best-in-class processes and metrics.

Define and agree goals and milestones with the leaders of the companies in his / her scope, and ensure goals are defined and communicated to their respective teams. Set up customer centric Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress. Follow up as appropriate and become hands-on if required to ensure achievement of goals.

Analyze operating results and their principal components relative to established objectives. Ensure the soundness of the business’ financial structure; take appropriate steps for corrective action as required with the leaders of the companies in his / her scope.

Overall responsibility for Quality of service and compliance with all legal and contractual obligations in all businesses of his / her scope. Set up appropriate control mechanisms to detect any relevant deviation.

Ensure group systems policies and processes are adhered to across the business line under his/her responsibility.

Build several state-of-the-art laboratories in existing and new business lines to serve your target customers with high quality testing services, market leading turn-around time (TAT) and competitive prices.

Establish superior relationships with the relevant government bodies to your businesses.

Spot opportunities quickly and come up with alternatives, creative solutions to unmet needs, problems and demands. Provide or seek financial support for high-impact ideas. Form a culture that supports change and innovation.

Own and drive the go-to-market strategy to grow market share, develop new customers and lead from the front in achieve revenue goals

Motivate, retain, develop and recruit excellent leaders for each company of his / her scope and ensure they do the same for each of their business units and sub business units.

Implement strong performance management and team development processes along group recommendations and using group tools when available.

Assess current talent and ensure that there is a highly committed and capable management team in place in each company, and that these leaders are coaching and mentoring potential successors and incumbents and / or bringing in additional talent as needed.


PREFERRED PROFILE:

Track record of leading an analytical service business.

Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Strong business acumen, adept financial management skills.

Strong energy level and motivation to take this challenge

Experience of interacting with Research Scientists in academia and private pharmaceutical industry
