Job Title: Founding Backend Developer

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Backend Developer. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building backend for consumer-facing products. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced, innovative environment, contributing directly to a product designed to impact millions.

Location: Gurgaon (In-Office)

Experience Level: 3+ years

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build the development and production platforms that powers our conversational bots (consumer app), enabling reliability and security at scale
• Partner with researchers, engineers, product managers, and designers to bring new features and research capabilities to the world
• Accelerate engineering productivity by empowering your fellow engineers with excellent tooling and systems
• Help create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that makes all feel welcome while enabling radical candor and the challenging of group think
• Like all other teams, we are responsible for the reliability of the systems we build. This includes an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents as needed

Experience:

• Own problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done
• Writing highly performant services
• Building/consuming RESTful based web-services
• Building and managing infrastructure in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS or Azure)
• Understands how to make tradeoffs in using different models.
• Configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Have meaningful experience with building (and rebuilding) production systems to deliver new product capabilities and to handle increasing scale
• Care deeply about the end user experience and take pride in building products to solve customer needs
• Have a humble attitude, an eagerness to help your colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed

Preferred (not must haves, as long as you are willing to learn):

• Building retrieval systems using RAG, and model fine-tuning
• Proven track record of working with LLM APIs and effective prompt engineering
• Proven experience with large-scale LLMs and Deep Learning systems
• Working with vector databases
• Have been a startup founder or an early-stage engineer
• Knowledge of Agentic AI architectures
• Familiar with one of the popular ML Frameworks like Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field from a reputable institution (e.g., IIT, BITS or other tier-1).
• 3+ years of work experience with strong (backend) programming skills (NodeJS, Python)
