We are seeking a skilled Accountant for the jewelry industry at Gamut HR Solutions in Hyderabad. This is a full-time, mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience. The role demands expertise in industry-specific accounting practices, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency for jewelry businesses.

Qualifications and Skills

• Sioniq software proficiency, specific to the jewelry industry, enabling accurate and efficient management of sector-related transactions and processes (Mandatory skill).
• Comprehensive understanding and previous hands-on experience as a jewelry accountant, dealing with gemstones, precious metals, and inventory valuation (Mandatory skill).
• Practical background in jewelry industry accounting standards and practices, including applicable regulatory compliance and reporting (Mandatory skill).
• Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, maintaining precise and organized financial records for ongoing and periodic analysis.
• Strong abilities in reconciliation, ensuring alignment between ledgers, bank statements, and inventory records to prevent discrepancies.
• Preparation and delivery of accurate financial reports, charts, and summaries for management review and strategic planning.
• Sound knowledge of tax compliance, GST, and regulatory requirements as applicable to jewelry businesses in India.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners related to accounting and compliance matters.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations for jewelry inventory, sales, purchases, and ensure timely transaction processing using Sioniq software.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts, including ledgers, vouchers, and invoices in alignment with industry-specific tax regulations and compliance norms.
• Perform periodic reconciliations of accounts, inventory, and bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports tailored to the unique financial structures of jewelry businesses.
• Coordinate with auditors for statutory audits, ensuring required data is organized, accessible, and compliant with prevailing laws.
• Monitor inventory valuations, process costing, and ensure correct classification of stock in line with organizational requirements and industry standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support business growth, risk assessment, and financial planning decisions for jewelry operations.
• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to suggest improvements in accounting systems, financial controls, and reporting procedures.
