Job Title: Construction Site Engineer

Job Summary:
The Construction Site Engineer will oversee and coordinate all aspects of assigned construction projects, from planning and design through to completion. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage timelines, teams, and resources while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations. The Construction Site Engineer will work closely with architects, engineers, sub-contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the Construction Site Engineer will manage material procurement, inventory, and the handover process to ensure successful project closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive project plans and schedule.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to finalize project shop drawings designs and specifications.
Material Management and Indenting:
- Identify and plan material requirements in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Oversee the material indenting process to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials.
- Manage inventory levels on-site to optimize material usage, prevent shortages, and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
Scheduling and Progress Tracking:
- Develop project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Monitor construction progress and adjust schedules as needed to avoid delays.
- Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders and identify potential risks and solutions.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure high-quality work and adherence to specifications.
- Address any deficiencies or issues promptly to maintain project standards.
Team and Stakeholder Management:
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations and updates.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all workers adhere to safety protocols.
Project Handover Process:
- Coordinate final inspections and ensure all punch-list items are addressed before project closeout.
- Co-ordinate for handover documentation, including as-built drawings, maintenance manuals, and warranties.
- Facilitate a smooth transition to the client by conducting a thorough project handover and addressing any post-completion issues as necessary.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement contingency plans for unforeseen challenges, such as material shortages or weather delays.
- Ensure that all aspects of risk management are in compliance with company standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in commercial & industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word).
- Excellent leadership and communication.
