Role: Senior SAP BASIS Consultant SME
Location: 100% Remote role
SAP Basis Migration SME
Required Experience:
· SAP migrations SME: 8 years and above
Preferable Certification
· SAP OS/DB migration certification
· HANA database certification
· Cloud certification – AWS/ Azure/ GCP
Mandatory Technical Requirements:
· Must have done SAP migrations projects in SAP basis technical domain using SAP tools SWPM and using different methods of migrations.
· Must have involved and executed through full implementation lifecycles of SAP migrations.
· Strong SAP Basis foundation.
· Windows Server working knowledge required for SAP installations and Migrations.
· UNIX OS working knowledge required for SAP installations and Migrations.
· Any Two Database working knowledge (Oracle/MS-SQL/DB2/Sybase/SAP HANA).
· Certification on HANA database
· Performance and Tuning on HANA database.
· Backup and Recovery for HANA database.
· Must have worked on HSR for HANA database.
· HANA database upgrade and update .
· DR setup with HANA.
· Working on HANA database in a clustered and high availability environment.
· Migrating HANA database on different hardware platforms.
· Must have worked on HANA studio and HANA cockpit.
· Knowledge of SAP Migration methodologies.
· Must have worked in SAP product installations using the latest SAP tools.
· Various SAP Migration tools and techniques used during SAP migrations.
· SAP HANA migrations (Optional).
· Experience of SAP migrations in heterogeneous and homogeneous environment.
· Able to work independently on SAP migrations.
· Understand technical directions quickly and execute it.
· Ability to work with multiple ongoing projects which are at different stages coordinating.
· Strong background in technical analysis and requirements gathering and solid understanding of the SAP.
· Experience installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting SAP applications on Linux, UNIX, or Windows environments.
· Database upgrades.
· SAP Router configurations.
· Good skills to analyze and troubleshoot SAP systems performance issues during migrations and in case of performance issues.
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Additional Skills
· System Administrator-level working knowledge/experience with at least two of the following: Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, or Windows
· Strong verbal, written, organizational and technical documentation skills.
· Ability to provide accurate and realistic effort estimates, commit and deliver accordingly.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; creative thinking
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional non-business hours
· Ability to work productively in a team environment and participate as a positive and cooperative team member.
Preferred (not mandatory) Skills
· SAP OS/DB migration certified.
· Proven knowledge of SAP HANA in-Memory Platform core technology, including architecture, landscape design, installation, upgrades, performance tuning, and system integration.
· Experience of implementation and conversion for S/4HANA solutions
· BOBJ installs, migrations and upgrades.
· Heterogeneous migration experience a plus.
· SAP Upgrades.
· Any third-party products migrations like BSI, Vertex, RWD uPerform, Redwood will be an added advantage.
· Provide solutions to SAP new and existing customers and Create implementation project plan.
· Estimate and plan all work effort relating to SAP Basis activities and Technical architecture components.
· Manage technical architecture analysis, design, build, test and deploy for executions.
· Infrastructure architecture – Sizing, virtualization, desktops, networks etc..
· Advise on technical approach for all systems integrating to SAP.
· Manage 3rd party dependencies related to SAP environment.
· Define and manage sizing of the SAP solution and managing of process with the hardware provider / hosting provider.
· Customer facing for understanding the technical requirement
· Devise best practices for SAP migrations.
· Understanding the recurring processes and work towards automations.
· Finetuning the SAP Build and Migrations with automations.
· System landscape design and management experience in operations and project scenarios
· Involved in planning and testing of the DR
· Manage all SAP technical changes
· Deep understanding of SAP best practice on Backup and Recovery
· Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
· Experience on other OS and DB versions. i.e. UNIX , Windows, Oracle, DB2 etc.
