Role Description:

The Custom Developer will be responsible for designing and developing custom eLearning solutions that enhance the learning experience. You will work closely with instructional designers, project managers, and multimedia teams to create interactive, responsive, and user-friendly modules. Your role will involve building custom functionalities, integrating with Learning Management Systems (LMS), and ensuring compliance with eLearning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and WCAG. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a strong technical background in web development and eLearning technologies.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Custom eLearning Development: Design and develop custom eLearning modules using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and other web technologies.
2. LMS Integration: Integrate eLearning solutions with various Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring compliance with standards like SCORM, xAPI, and AICC.
3. Collaboration: Work with instructional designers and multimedia specialists to develop engaging, interactive learning experiences from storyboards and design briefs.
4. Responsive Design: Ensure that all eLearning modules are fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
5. Testing and Debugging: Perform thorough testing to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth functionality across platforms and devices.
6. Technical Innovation: Stay updated with the latest eLearning technologies and development tools to implement innovative solutions.
7. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all content meets accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Section 508) and delivers a seamless user experience.
8. Maintenance and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues for existing eLearning modules as needed.
9. Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of development processes, coding practices, and project details for future reference.

Education and Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Instructional Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• 3+ years of professional experience in custom development, preferably in the eLearning domain.
• Proven experience with LMS platforms and standards like SCORM, AICC, and xAPI.
• Experience working with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools (a plus).
• Prior experience with responsive web development and mobile-first design principles.

Skills/Abilities:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development technologies.
• Strong understanding of API integrations for LMS platforms and third-party applications.
• Knowledge of eLearning standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI) and accessibility guidelines (WCAG, Section 508).
• Familiarity with media formats (audio, video) and their application in eLearning modules.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to LMS integration, user experience, and responsiveness.
