Job Overview

As our Director, Software Engineering, you will drive the execution of our development pipeline and foster innovation in technology and development processes. By leading a team of engineering and QA managers, you will direct and develop a talented, high performing cross-functional team. As their leader, you will set the vision for how our software is architected, engineered, tested, and released to our customers. Specifically, you will cultivate a culture that drives the results of reducing technical debt, eliminating dependencies, and streamline our code. You will also create the means to introduce, test, and integrate new technologies into our products, always enhancing them.

You will collaborate with executives across the business, and provide strategic leadership as a member of the Executive Team. On a daily basis, you will work in tandem with Product Leadership to ensure Ipro continues to release rock solid software.

This is a unique executive leadership role in that you will be very “hands on” with regard to our technical architecture. You will have the challenge of balancing the tactical, immediate needs of the business, while also directing the broader vision of engineering at Ipro. This is an ideal role for someone who loves leading others while not being too extrapolated from the daily joy of coding.

• Is eager, visionary, and on top of tech trends

• How do we strategically and systematically bring our development tools and technologies up to snuff without compromising the integrity of our products?
• In collaboration with Product Leadership, how do we speed up our release cycle?
• How do we strategically remove interdependencies within our applications while simultaneously increasing the frequency of releases?
• What strategic approach should we take toward managing, reducing, and preventing technical debt?

Education & Experience

• Prior experience as a Director of Software Engineering at a growing software or SaaS company
• 10+ years of technical expertise
• Ample experience leading teams of people through challenging work
• Change management experience
• A Strong Agile/Kanban development background
• Led the development of high quality, successful products
• Experience leading development of products built in C#/ Microsoft based technologies
• Experience with both SaaS and enterprise development
• A strong architecture background
