Job Description

VERTICA DBA

Exp. Range: 4- 8 yrs

Budget: Open for 50 to 100 % hike if the candidate is good).

Locations: Hyderabad & Mumbai

Primary Skills: Vertica DBA Role

Desire Skills & responsibilities

1.   Provide Vertica design and development for large enterprise solutions used for Big Data analytics

2.   Design, implement, and optimize Vertica database with optimal database configuration (e.g. Vertica configuration parameters) that support real-time customer use-cases for high scale.

3.   Configuration and installation of Vertica 9.x, 10.x on Linux.

4.   Performance monitor and tune, data manage and resource manage for analytics use cases.

5.   Work to optimize system performance using Vertica tuning tools and manual techniques.

6.   Maintain Vertica databases with regular patching, upgrades and other maintenance activities.

7.   Monitor Vertica cluster health and perform necessary tuning.

8.   Identify poorly performance queries, create projections and other measures to improve application performance.

9.   Allocate workloads to resource pools and deliver optimal performance for application workloads.

10. Troubleshoot and resolve Vertica system issues.

11. Maintain database service levels and availability goals, database monitoring and performance tuning, database backup and recovery, and resolving production database incidents.

12. Manage data governance and security.

13. Work with IT security teams to track access, audit, and approvals for Big Data platform.
