This individual will be part of the Development group within the Digital Engineering Solutions team, helping design and implementation of cloud-based solutions facilitating CI/CD pipeline, and ensuring that software development and operations teams work collaboratively. An ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, proactive, and a highly interested in the application of new technologies and methods. This individual must showcase exceptional abilities in implementing solutions for AEC initiatives that involve cutting-edge technologies. As a member of the Digital Engineering Solutions team, the Development group will be engaged in research and development and provide guidance and oversight to the AEC practices at CDM Smith, engaging in new product research, and the incubation of innovative ideas that arise from around the company. The ideal candidate should possess an extensive background in application development, that includes security, scaling, integration, and application migration, along with a commitment to continuous advancement and interest that drives measurable results. The following are the Key responsibilities for this position:<ul><li>Possessing a solid understanding of cloud technologies, including architecture design, planning, configuring, and resource management in Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.</li><li>Working collaboratively with the development team to understand their Azure infrastructure requirements and providing assistance as needed.</li><li>Establish standards by managing infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code tools.</li><li>Collaborate closely with the IT operations, and security teams to ensure that best practices are followed.</li><li>Independently oversee and maintain the team's Azure cloud subscriptions.</li><li>Incorporate security best practices into the cloud infrastructure and ensure compliance with organizational security guidelines.</li><li>Analyze the cloud service's business needs, investigate the necessary framework, design and implement enterprise-class cloud service providing secure, scalable, and efficient solutions.</li><li>Engage in multidisciplinary research on complex systems including serverless, endpoints, networks, and hardware/software.</li><li>Collaborates with stakeholders, program group leaders and development lead to analyze their cloud initiatives and offer cost-effective system specifications that comply with the standards.</li><li>Communicate verbally and in writing with non-technical cross-functional teams.</li><li>Implement cost-saving measures and analyze resource utilization to optimize cloud costs.</li><li>Design, build and implement a disaster recovery management system that aligns with the project's requirements and industry standards.</li><li>Ensure the Azure environment is maintained and supported, which includes providing user access, troubleshooting, governance, and compliance.</li><li>Establish standards and guidelines across cloud platforms in accordance with industry standards.</li><li>Develop and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that ensure the performance and health of the system.</li></ul> Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Take ownership of the project and work independently in a team environment.</li><li>Proficient in the dynamic deployment of Azure resources in landing zones using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.</li><li>Working knowledge of the principles of role-based access control, modern security strategy, and Azure network interfaces.</li><li>Working knowledge of Git and version control systems, as well as the ability to configure CICD pipelines using Azure DevOps using Infrastructure as code (IaC).</li><li>Experience in Azure networking services, including content delivery, load balancing, network security and cloud-native microservices architecture.</li><li>Proficient in critical thinking, accurate analysis, and effective decision-making.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services for horizontal scaling and high availability system design, planning, and implementation.</li><li>Have a solid understanding of data residency, data isolation, and data retention policies.</li><li>Proficient with Azure Active Directory B2C &amp; B2B, multi-factor authentication protocol, federated identity, enterprise-level security services, and implementing Identity Access Management standards using OAuth2 &amp; SAML.</li><li>Working knowledge of cybersecurity and networking, as well as automated security tools such as intrusion detection and prevention and vulnerability scanning.</li><li>Experience in Container Orchestration.</li><li>Proficient in the development and management of data lakes and data bricks within a sharable environment.</li><li>Expert knowledge of creating disaster recovery strategies using industry standards and requirements for the project.</li><li>Excellent written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills.</li><li>Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools and familiarity with programming languages like Python, Azure PowerShell, Bash scripts, and Hashi Corp tools.</li><li>Willing to enhance skills with cutting edge technology and tools to stay competitive in the industry.</li></ul> Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree.</li><li>6 years of related experience.</li><li>Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert AZ-304/AZ-500</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in software development, Engineering or a related specialization preferred.</li></ul>
