Job Profile: Deputy General Manager (DGM) - Operations, Agrochemical Manufacturing Greenfield Project

Overview:

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Operations for an Agrochemical Manufacturing Greenfield Project is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the establishment,

development, and efficient functioning of a new agrochemical manufacturing facility. The DGM will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and managing all aspects of the manufacturing operations to ensure safe, sustainable, and high-quality production while adhering to regulatory standards and optimizing resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with senior management to define project objectives, timelines, and budget for

setting up the greenfield agrochemical manufacturing facility.

Develop a comprehensive project plan, detailing tasks, resource allocation, and milestones for the construction and operational phases.

Infrastructure and Facility Setup:

Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure timely and efficient setup of the manufacturing plant, including procurement of machinery, equipment, and utilities.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality requirements during facility construction.

Operational Strategy:

Develop and implement the operational strategy for the manufacturing facility, including

production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control.

Optimize processes to achieve production targets, minimize waste, and ensure cost-effective operations.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and manage a skilled workforce across various functions such as production,

quality assurance, maintenance, and safety.

Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture that emphasizes safety, continuous

improvement, and employee development.

Quality and Compliance:

Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.

Implement and maintain quality control systems to monitor product quality and consistency.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

Establish and enforce safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Monitor and address potential environmental impacts of manufacturing operations,

implementing sustainable practices where possible.

Supply Chain and Logistics:

Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and resources required for production.

Optimize logistics and distribution to ensure on-time delivery of finished products to customers.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.

Lead initiatives to implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and innovative

technologies.

Reporting and Communication:

Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management regarding project progress,

production metrics, resource utilization, and other relevant KPIs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor& or Master& degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field.

Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in agrochemical or chemical manufacturing, with a proven track record of managing operations.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements within the agrochemical industry.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Problem-solving ability and a strategic mindset for operational challenges.

Familiarity with greenfield project setups and construction processes.

Proficiency in using relevant manufacturing software
