Key Responsibilities:
- GST Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual GST returns. Maintain proper records of input and output taxes, reconcile GST ledgers, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Taxation: Assist in tax planning and compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations. Prepare and file income tax returns, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), and other tax-related forms. Stay updated with changes in tax laws and ensure adherence to tax-related deadlines.
- Banking Operations: Manage banking activities, including reconciling bank statements, processing payments, and maintaining accurate cash flow records. Coordinate with banks for various transactions, such as fund transfers, issue of bank guarantees, and handling foreign exchange transactions.
- Billing and Invoicing: Generate accurate and timely invoices for clients/customers and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Verify billing details, maintain billing records, and follow up on outstanding payments. Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate with clients for timely payment.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and present reports to management for decision-making purposes. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and expense reports. Organize and maintain financial documentation, such as invoices, receipts, and supporting documents for audits and tax assessments.
- Compliance and Audit: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Prepare necessary documents, respond to auditor inquiries, and implement recommended improvements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including ratio analysis, variance analysis, and cost analysis. Identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and recommend strategies to optimize financial performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably with exposure to GST, taxation, banking, and invoicing.
- Strong knowledge of GST regulations, income tax laws, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Familiarity with banking operations, including fund transfers and foreign exchange transactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
