Job Description

Position: Import Logistics Coordinator

Reports To: Management.

Position Purpose:

They are responsible for managing the flow of goods, services, or information between different

entities.

Logistic coordinators may work directly with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and

other parties involved in the supply chain to ensure that products are delivered on time and in good

condition. They may also coordinate with internal teams such as marketing or sales to help

determine which products should be prioritized for delivery based on demand or other factors

-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Managing the shipment of goods through customs by completing documentation such as

customs forms and bills of lading

- Coordinating with vendors to ensure that deliveries arrive on time and in full

- Providing customers with information regarding order status and delivery schedules

- Ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met in regards to hazardous materials

shipments

- Processing incoming shipments through customs, including collecting paperwork and filing

documents with government agencies

- Working directly to resolve issues regarding freight charges or other problems with

shipments

- Coordinating with transportation providers to arrange pickup, delivery, and storage of goods

- Review and standardize Company's use of third-party service providers (e.g., customs

brokers, logistics) for improved compliance and cost savings

- Develop trade compliance training material and conduct employee training to heighten

awareness of customs issues and changing legislation

- Keep business informed of any material changes (Customs tariff, procedure or regulations)

in customs legislation.

- Conduct monthly customs checks, identify customs risks and prevent and mitigate violations,

implementing any corrective and preventative actions.

- Diligently monitor entry status, intervene as necessary and respond to information requests

from Customs

- Working closely with the Finance team to ensure import payment is accurate and the

deferment account is maintained at the correct levels (GST & amp; Duty management).

-Skills and Specifications:

- 3+ years of Customs and Trade experience, preferably In-depth knowledge of Inco terms,

import/export licenses and requirements related to customs clearance

- Detail orientated with excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office - especially Excel 

- Self-Starter who is proactive and motivated.

- Quick Learning Skills

Education and Qualifications:

- bachelor’s degree in logistics, international trade or a related field.
