Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily lacquering/coating operations on wood, glass, and other substrates.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of coating tasks per company standards.
• Oversee surface preparation, primer, basecoat, topcoat, and curing processes.
• Monitor quality at every stage to avoid defects such as sagging, pinholes, orange peel, poor adhesion, etc.
• Conduct trials and ensure color matching accuracy against approved samples.
• Implement corrective actions to reduce rework and ensure uniform finishes.
• Ensure proper mixing of paints (PU, NC, water-based) with hardeners/thinners using standard ratios.
• Maintain accurate usage logs and coordinate with the purchase/stores team for timely replenishment.
• Conduct stock counts and internal audits of WIP, FG, BIN, SFG, and Scrap.
• Allocate daily manpower, manage attendance, and ensure discipline.
• Train spray painters and helpers on correct spraying techniques, gun settings, booth hygiene, and PPE compliance.
• Motivate and guide team members towards meeting production targets and improving productivity.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance of spray booths, guns, compressors, filters, and lacquering equipment.
• Maintain clean and ventilated coating areas in compliance with audit norms.
• Enforce strict usage of PPE and safety protocols while handling flammable and hazardous materials.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste paints, thinners, and other residues in line with environmental standards.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on lacquering activities, defects, and material consumption.
• Troubleshoot internal escalations and support interdepartmental coordination.
• Accept new KRAs, KPIs, and tasks as assigned by reporting managers from time to time.
• Proficient in spraying (airless, electrostatic), dip coating, flow coating, roller/curtain coating.
• Knowledge of slitting & rewinding, lacquer purification systems, drying tunnels, and lacquer transfer pumps.
• Familiar with substrate compatibility and surface treatment techniques.
• Willing to work in rotational shifts.
• Open to travel to neighboring branches for troubleshooting or support once in 3 months or as required.
