Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Configuration Engineer to manage configuration and code migrations across UAT, SIT, and Production environments. This role involves end-to-end release and change management, including CAB coordination, deployment planning, risk analysis, and backout strategies. The ideal candidate will ensure stable and efficient production releases while supporting batch scheduling and resolving operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage mainframe configuration and code migrations using Endevor and GitLab across UAT, SIT, and Production environments.
• Own and maintain all configuration activities and codebase levels in UAT and SIT regions.
• Take full responsibility for resolving ongoing configuration issues in UAT and SIT environments.
• Plan and execute end-to-end release management activities, including CAB coordination, deployment planning, and rollback procedures.
• Build and maintain SCLs for package preparation and batch processing using Endevor.
• Prepare and manage production release packages and deployments via Endevor.
• Ensure adherence to release management processes, standards, and governance.
• Develop and maintain release checklists, documentation, and dependency tracking for smooth deployments.
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, and performance improvement opportunities for CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to maintain a centralized view of release schedules and development challenges.
• Participate in project meetings as a Code Manager/Endevor SME and provide inputs for planning and release timelines.
• Analyze branch strategies, code merges, and version control impacts across teams.
• Review and enforce coding standards for SIT and UAT deployments.
• Communicate technical risks, project status, and release updates to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks affecting release scope, schedule, and quality; remove blockers to ensure timely delivery.
• Support batch scheduling and troubleshoot issues using CA7.
• Ensure production stability by managing infrastructure updates without impacting live systems.
• Execute and support production backout and recovery processes when required.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in Endevor (SCL creation, package management, and deployments)
• Experience with GitLab or Git-based version control on mainframe
• Solid understanding of release management processes and CAB coordination
• Hands-on experience with batch scheduling tools such as CA7
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and dependency management
• Familiarity with IBM Workload Scheduler (or similar scheduling tools)
• Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills
• Ability to manage multiple environments (UAT, SIT, Production) effectively
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and business stakeholders
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and ensure high-quality, timely releases
