*Job Summary:*

Seeking a highly skilled Senior AS400 Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and support AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems and applications. This role involves troubleshooting, performance tuning, application upgrades, and ensuring the smooth day to day operation of AS400 environments. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in Synon, RPG, CL, DB2, SQLRPGLE, and ILE concepts, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills:

Strong expertise in:

Synon – Application development and maintenance.

RPG (RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, Free Format RPG, ILE RPG) – Advanced coding and debugging.

CL (Control Language) – Automation and scripting on IBM iSeries.

DB2 for iSeries (DB2/400, SQL, Stored Procedures, Indexing, Performance Tuning).

ILE Concepts (Service Programs, Modules, Binding, Activation Groups, APIs).

Experience in modernizing legacy AS400 applications and integrating with external systems.

Familiarity with MQ, FTP, and other middleware technologies is a plus.

Strong understanding of job scheduling, system monitoring, and security administration.

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and business discussions.

Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Experience & Education:

7+ years of hands-on experience in AS400/iSeries development and support.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Previous experience in a lead or senior role is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

·Familiarity with cloud integrations, REST APIs, or microservices on IBM i.
