Job Objective
- To support Electrical & Protection related activities of medium voltage and EHV class
Transmission substations
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities
- Experience with various transmission substation configurations and basics of electrical and protection for all elements.
- Understanding of substation equipment and their operations, including basic maintenance and condition monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with CRP schemes, IED configuration, scheme wiring, and equipment schemes.
- Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of transmission protection systems and schemes for new projects and O&M, including factory inspections as per guidance.
- Implementation of modifications for settings, configurations, and schemes as per guidance.
- Hands-on experience with relay setting calculation and coordination.
- Experience in power system studies, load flow studies, and transient studies.
- Exposure to high voltage system and equipment protection above the 132KV system.
- Power transformer and reactor protection and relay setting review.
- Daily/routine monitoring of substation events and occurrences and preparing relevant reports/data to support RCA and troubleshooting.
- Data collection for occurrence analysis (RCA), reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Support for IMS, reporting, and maintaining relevant databases.
- Required exposure, understanding, and ability to observe safety aspects and procedures to carry out activities in live switchyards.
Educational Qualification:
B.E. (Electrical) with 7 to 15 years of Experience, preferably in Electrical and Protection
systems
Experiences:
• Understanding of Electrical EHV substation, EHV Transmission line, Power plants. plant related equipment and Auxiliaries. Understanding philosophy, application, and technology for Electrical Protection.
• Working knowledge: PS Cad, PSSE, My power will be an additional advantage.
• Position holder may require travelling at site locations as per requirement.
