Job Description: Business Development Manager (Specialty Chemicals – Water Repellent, Fire Retardant, Binder)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with strong expertise in specialty chemicals, particularly water repellent, fire retardant and various type of binder, coating applications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence across all regional markets in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in water repellent, fire retardant, textiles, coatings and related industries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and key industries.
• Drive market penetration for water repellent, fire retardant and binder products through consultative selling and solution-based approaches.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and trend forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate with R&D and technical teams to align trials.
• Prepare business proposals, pricing strategies and long-term sales plans along with competition analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development/sales within specialty chemicals (preferred focus: water repellent, fire retardant, binder, coatings or textile auxiliaries).
• Strong technical knowledge of water repellent, fire retardant and binder.
• Excellent business acumen with experience in handling B2B sales cycles.
• Proven ability to negotiate and close high-value deals.
• Exceptional communication, networking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with frequent virtual collaboration.
• Willingness to travel based on the requirement as needed for customer meetings, exhibitions and business events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science, or related field (MBA is a plus).
• Established network within water repellent, fire retardant, coatings or textile industries.
• Multinational experience or exposure to international markets.
• Adequate knowledge require for domestic market (water repellent, fire retardant, binder).
