The Senior System Administrator will oversee the design, deployment, and

maintenance of enterprise-level Windows and Linux servers, while managing

databases (MsSQL/MySQL) and performing basic AWS cloud administration. This

role requires strong analytical skills for network troubleshooting and an unwavering

commitment to security, compliance, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Server Administration

o Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (e.g., Active

Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, GPO, etc.).

o Manage server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high

availability.

2. Network Troubleshooting

o Diagnose and resolve network problems (routing, switching, firewalls).

o Collaborate with Network Engineers to optimize network performance and

reliability.

3. Database Management

o Administer and maintain MsSQL and MySQL databases, including backup,

restoration, and performance tuning.

o Implement database security and monitoring solutions to protect critical data.

4. Cloud Administration (AWS)

o Perform basic AWS tasks such as provisioning instances, managing S3

storage, and configuring security groups.

o Participate in cloud cost optimization and resource management initiatives.

5. Security & Compliance

o Apply best practices in hardening systems and ensuring compliance with

relevant industry standards.

o Proactively monitor and mitigate potential security threats.

6. Documentation & Reporting

o Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and

changes.

o Generate regular performance and availability reports for management.

7. Collaboration & Leadership

o Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and support IT

projects.

o Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement

initiatives.

Qualifications

 Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information

Technology, or related field, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems

administration.

 Technical Skills:

o Expertise in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions

(Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).

o Proficiency in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, NAT, VPNs) and

troubleshooting tools.

o Solid experience with MsSQL and MySQL database administration.

o Basic working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM).

 Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft (e.g., MCSA), Linux (e.g., RHCE), AWS (e.g.,

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner), and relevant networking/security credentials.

 Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving ability, communication skills, and a drive for

innovation.
